All vehicles in the London Borough of Newham will need a permit to park on a public street between 27 July – 12 August and 29 August – 9 September, between 8am–9pm, from Monday to Sunday. This includes both existing residential parking zones (RPZs) and streets with no parking controls
Existing non-restricted areas will be accessible to permit holders only during the restricted times. All residents and businesses in this area will be able to get free 2012 Games parking permits to park. Residents will also be able to register for up to 40 one day visitor permits.
The restrictions will be in place between 8.30am – 9.00pm, from Monday to Sunday. existing controlled parking zones will operate as they do now but their times will be extended accordingly. restrictions will apply to controlled parking zones D1 and D2 (Isle of Dogs), A4, B1, B2, B3 and new zone B4 (Fish Island) between 23 July – 9 September
Free temporay permits available from the council to cover the extended restrictions. Existing visitor's permits will be valid for longer. Existing visitors’ scratch cards will still be valid but can be used for longer periods. For example, during the week a five-hour visitor voucher used after 12.30pm will be valid until 9pm. On weekends, only one voucher is needed to cover the whole day
Will operate a business and residents parking protection scheme Mo-So 8am - 1pm and 3pm - 9pm applicable to all roads south of Lea Bridge Road incl existing CPZ's between 16th July - 9 Sept. Exisiting CPZs will operate as usual but with extended times as appropriate. Existing uncontrolled areas below Lea Bridge Road will be for permit holders only during the restricted times. All residents and businesses in this area will be able to get free 2012 Games parking permits to enable them to park as usual.
Existing visitor permits will not be valid during the Games. An alternative free visitors’ permit scheme will be introduced to assist residents. operate as usual but with extended times as appropriate.
